What is it?
Fillers are a non-surgical solution to provide a more youthful appearance by decreasing facial lines, wrinkles and folds, and restore facial volume that has been lost due to aging. There are different types of fillers and each works a little differently to obtain the same desired outcome.

We offer two types of fillers: Radiesse and Juvederm.

Radiesse Fillers
Is an FDA approved dermal filler that is setting a new standard for the correction of facial lines and wrinkles. It is a calcium hydroxylapatite solution that supports and stimulates collagen deposits to form around the filler. Radiesse is excellent for severe folds and wrinkles that require large volumes and respond well to deep placement.

Juvederm Fillers
Is an FDA approved hyaluronic acid (which is a naturally occurring hydrating substance in our bodies), derived from cultivated bacteria…no animal contaminants. This injectable gel instantly restores your skin’s volume and smoothes away facial wrinkles and folds, like your “smile lines” or “parentheses” (nasolabial folds – the creases that run from the bottom of your nose to the corners of your mouth). It can also be injected into upper vertical lip lines, marionette lines, oral commissures and chin wrinkles.

How long does it take to get fillers?
The entire treatment (or injection) takes about 30 minutes. We will use a topical anesthetic gel for the nasolabial area followed by a nerve block (much like you would receive during a dental tooth filling). Once the area is numb, the doctor or nurse will inject the filler.

How much filler do I need?
The amount of filler required is unique to each patient’s severity of wrinkles, lines and folds. If you are a new patient to Milwaukee Vein and Laser Center, we offer a free consultation to educate you about fillers and how much would be an appropriate amount for you.

Does having fillers hurt?
Most patients experience only minimal and brief discomfort with little to no downtime.
