What is it?
Dermaplaning is an exfoliating treatment that provides an alternative to chemical peels or microdermabrasion treatments and is a good choice for anyone who has fine facial hair (peach fuzz), extremely sensitive skin, redness or rosacea, or visible facial veins.

What does it Treat?
Dermaplaning quickly evens our skin texture and provides a radiant glow due to improved light refection by removing dull hair and dead skin from the skin’s surface. Regular treatments can:

Reduce the appearance of wrinkles
Reduce acne and acne scars
Reduce skin discoloration
Improve skin elasticity
Improve skin hydration
Decrease the appearance of pores

How long does it take?

Your dermaplaning appointment will take about 45-60 minutes with results seen immediately. With regular treatments, your skin can look healthy and radiant. The normal skin growth cycle is around 30 days and since dermaplaning removes about 2-3 weeks worth of dead skin cells, it is best to wait about 3-4 weeks between treatments.

Are you a candidate?
The only skin that shouldn’t be treated with dermaplaning is acne-prone skin. The oil from the sebaceous glands needs to travel up and connect with the villous hair in order for it to be excreted. If the hair is removed and the oil builds up, the glands are obstructed and can cause more breakouts.

Can other treatments be performed on the same day as my dermaplaning appointment?
A micro peel done immediately after dermaplaning is an excellent way to make sure that the peel penetrates deeper and more evenly. Adding on a micro peel can help hydrate and further exfoliate dry and normal skin. Cryo-therapy is another option following treatment. Cryo-therapy is a method of quickly applying a dry-ice ball to the skin to reduce redness and provide anti-bacterial cellular turnover. It also is able to provide additional skin tightening results.

How it works
The dermaplaning treatment uses a blade to gently exfoliate the outer layer of dead skin cells and remove fine facial hair. A noticeable improvement is immediate with smoother texture and a fresh skin appearance. Hair returns softly and will not become coarser because of the treatment.
