What is it?
Hyperpigmentation occurs when excess amounts of the skin pigment, melanin, collect in the skin which results in dark patches of skin commonly referred to as age spots, freckles, brown spots, sun damage or sun spots. A method of treating these dark areas of hyperpigmentation is the use of intense pulsed light therapy. Intense pulsed light – or IPL – helps neutralize dark spots while minimizing damage to other areas.

How it works
The IPL targets light into the lower layers of the skin causing it to product new collagen and connective tissue, which supports the upper skin layer and makes the skin surface smoother. A handpiece will be placed on your skin and a bright light will deliver the energy to the targeted area.
